Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs – Updated 2010

Immigration – Global humanitarian reasons for current U.S. immigration are tested in this updated version of immigration author and journalist Roy Beck’s colorful presentation of data from the World Bank and U.S. Census Bureau. The 1996 version of this immigration gumballs presentation has been one of the most viewed immigration policy presentations on the internet.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and this is an excellent video to put things like the classic  immigration issue  in their proper perspective.

Immigration has its place in an altruistic and humanistic theme, but often it simply serves the interests of the Politicians (who cater to ethnic block voting) and the Civil Service which thrives on such cash drain “social services” jobs.

If we do care about our fellow human beings….best to teach them how to fish in  their own lands, not in our lands. We have our own problems, and increasingly so. Charity begins at home.

If not, we do not solve the long term problems and in fact, they stay oppressed in their own countries and become slaves and serfs to their colonial masters, rather than building a country/society that they live in and should have a say in and can build a REAL future. Or, in other words, is immigration THE worst thing that could happen? …….false sense  of humanity that hides other agendas, given the numbers so visually presented with the coloured  GUMBALLS ?.
